Driving in to work this morning I had my Air Condition set to auto and to sync with the passenger AC. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but if you have sync turned on the Rear AC comes on automatically.

When I set the AC to 64 ❄ the front AC is was blowing cool air and felt comfortable. I reached into the back seat to grab my umbrella off the floor board at a stop light and noticed the air coming out of the rear blowers was very warm almost hot 🔥.

Is there a separate sensor for the rear AC? Why would it come out hot when the front AC is blowing cold and the system is synced. I hate the idea that I’m comfortable in the front seat and I’m inadvertently baking my passengers in the rear seat. If I set the AC all the way to LO it forced cool air from rear blowers, but anything above 50s had heat blowing for the rear AC. 🤦‍♂️

This doesn't answer your question (at all) but when I'm alone and turn on the HVAC (?) system, I always try to remember to turn off the "rear" ventilation via the On/Off button. Problem solved for up to 2 front seat passengers.

This at least solves any wasted air (+ fuel mileage) to the back where no one is sitting.

Have you checked to see if the temperature setting for the back seats is turned up?

I have noticed this on my 2021 passport too. I think I've mentioned it before here and someone said they thought the same. I have to turn the rear lower some days to make sure it's blowing cool and not warm air even though front is cold.

I used to lean over and push the rear control's down arrow until I felt cold air, when I wanted cold air back there.
My wife played the with front controls and figured out how to control the rear from the front panel, so I've appointed her to this task. She's sorta the PLO.
