Greetings all,
Just found this Forum. Has a lot of good info.
I bought a new 2020 Passport EX-L w/AWD back in May of this year. It's Black Copper Pearl with Black interior. Only put 6,100 miles on it so far.
Added the wireless cell phone charger and all weather mats.
Looks like it has the dreaded crackling noise problem. Going in for service this Wednesday. Hopefully they have a solid fix for this issue.
Getting pretty good gas mileage so far at just over 23 M.P.G. This is mostly highway miles.
Cheers,
Kreg

Congrats. I just bought mine last week. What crackling noise problem are you having? My only issue so far is the AC doesn't seem to work. The fan works and I get bunch of air, but it ain't cold! I have an appointment on Tuesday to get it fixed. The service manager said they had a bunch of new PP come in for that recently. said something bout a bad seal or something. Looking around here, someone mentioned a bad evaporator gasket. I'm assuming thats the same thing the SM told me.

Hi Zero62,
Ah, Modern Steel was on my short list of colors for the Passport. Very nice. Sorry to hear the AC doesn't work. Does the compressor click on? The dealer should be able to correct that problem quickly. My problem is a crackling sound coming from under the dash and the speakers. It comes a goes and goes. Sometimes its very annoying but so far the no screen lock-ups or it going blank. Think the general consensus is a wire harness problem. We shall see. I love the car and don't want to be stuck doing the lemon law thing others have had to do. I'll post the resolution when it happens.

Thanks! CoVid has been keeping me home or it would be a lot more miles. What oil change schedule are you following? At 11,600 I'm guessing that you have had one or two by now.

The first one was at about 6k, I think the on-board system "told" me to do it. The second one was when I was at the Dealership getting the Recalls taken care of and I noticed they had a $29.95 oil/lube special so I got that one a bit early (maybe around 10k), So yeah I could see you probably have done one change already..

You're right. I did the first oil change myself at 3,000 miles. Got a coupon like yours that I will use during this visit to the dealer. Really can't beat the price for a full syn oil change.

Is the crackling noise the wind noise coming from driver side? If so I solved this by replacing the glass on both driver and passenger windows with the Acoustic Glass found on higher levels of trim. The cost with installation was $1300. I asked for a 10% discount and received it. Much better! It's worth it.

Hi Fred,
That's good info on the acoustic window glass. I'm pretty satisfied with the interior noise level after coming from a 2014 Accord Sport. The crackling noise is under the dash and in the speakers. Seems to be getting worse with time and mileage.
I did visit the dealer today for the two recalls, an oil change and tire rotation. While I was there, they did Bulletin 20-058 to correct the known issue of the crackling noises. It appears to have corrected the problem. I did not hear anything on my 50 mile trip back from the dealer. Hopefully this completely solved the noise issue. The best part was the entire visit at the dealer was only 2 hours from start to finish! :)
