1) The redesigned 2020 Subaru Outback: has a turbo 4cyl w/260hp and a very cool 11.6" Infotainment display, and probably more ground clearance than the Passport, and just a few feet less overall storage room, but still has the CVT:

Might end of being the closest to a Passport as far as off-road capabilities, since the Mazda CX5, Nissan Murano, Ford, Escape and Chevy Blazer offer practically zero off-road action...

The 2020 Outback looks closer to being a “crossover” and the Passport is closer to being a SUV.
260 hp 4 cyl turbo has less low end torque these the 3.5 honda V-6
I’m not sure of the dementions but, the outback looks much smaller then the Passport?

I owned a Subaru years ago. It was the biggest pile of crap ever. I drove a new one a couple of years ago as a company car. It was totally benign. I have owned 36 cars/trucks/SUVs in my life. The Subaru ranks dead last.

Never for me, aesthetically I hate the look of the side view of the racks which I would have to use all of the time as it’s just too damn small compared to the PP ?

Agreed, every time I see a Subaru Outback and those huge roof rack rails I think how ugly they look. I considered an Outback or a Forester and then found out they have a CVT, so no deal. Very happy I chose the Passport.

The only good thing about a Subaru is passing one. Why are they all driven sooo slow?
WHY:
They know how to relax knowing that they are in a car they like, will arrive at their destination without failure, have a lot of 'adventure' stuff packed, family is enjoying the scenery (or ipads), secure in their family relationship, and have very satisfying jobs. As a great soothsayer once said: "I'm Living the Dream".

I had an Outback for about a year (somewhere around 2010 or 11). My sweat must have been corrosive to it. The finish on the door where my leg would rest against it completely wore away, as did the leather under my knees. I've never had this happen before or since. The drive was boring, and I was glad to be rid of it. Maybe they've gotten better.

Ive been shopping the Subie OBs, mainly online. Liking what i read of the '20 Gobal Platform for them. Cept no 6 cyl engine.
