Hi All,

I was at my dealer over the weekend getting an oil change on my Civic and noticed they had a Passport in the showroom. I took the opportunity to look it over and came away with a few observations.
  • First, if this thing is designed to be an 'off road' vehicle why the street tires? Why not something more aggressive?
  • The seats are comfortable, but the pull up armrest needs to be more beefy IMO. Has a mini-van feel.
  • No turbocharged engine? While it does generate 280hp, a turbo would not only increase hp, it would better its mileage.
  • No variable speed transmission - fantastic.
  • Love the storage space in the back, but would like to see that rubberized or some sort of aftermarket option.
  • Like the push button drive/park selector on cup console.
  • Not a fan of the center instrument panel. I would like to see that more like the new Civic or CR-V. Don't like the placement of the 'econ' button.
  • Does this thing have TPS sensors? If so they need to do what they did with the latest CR-V and Civic where the system senses tire pressure differences with the rotational speed of the tires in relation to one another.
  • Like the 20' wheels, but the clearance between the wheel and the wheel well make it look undersized.

The tires are because this will probably be purchased by people who like the idea of a rugged vehicle but actually want a stylish street vehicle. Anyone who is serious about going off in the wilderness is probably going to swap wheels/tires. Look at the Jsport packages for the Pilot and Ridgeline, some dealers will install these at the dealer:

It does have individual wheel pressure sensors. I currently have a CR-V and the only message you get is that some tire has low pressure. The Pilot/Passport will show you pressure for all four wheels in the dashboard which I think is nicer.
The TPS comment is a good one. I'd like to know *which* tire(s) is having issues not just a general alert. Thanks for the link to jsportusa. Hadn't heard about them.
