I guess I never followed up on this site after they fixed mine..... I was doing 75 mph when it happened the first time, they could not find anything wrong but had a camshaft sensor error code. The second time. 6 months later, I was doing 50 mph through my downtown freeway, did it again, all lights came on, engine shut down. This did not happen to me at stops, so it was not the idle stop function. The error code on both pointed to the cam shaft sensor, which will shut everything down if it thinks there is a problem to protect the engine. The second time, they replaced the cam shaft sensor in my 2019 Passport. After that fix, it literally happened again later that day on my way home. Luckily it did NOT shut down.... but limped with minimal power to the dealer who is on my way home. Left it for them to get fixed. They got hold of the "national problem solving team" and decided it was NOT the cam shaft sensor, but it was possible loose cam shaft holding brackets (I'm paraphrasing as I'm not an engine guy). So it was the brackets that the cam shaft goes into that were loose... hence a wobble in the cam shaft that occasionally caused the sensor to notice and shut the engine down. They ultimately tore down the engine and replaced the brackets in the engine that hold the crankshaft. Never had another problem.
The biggest item of value I learned is that the computer resets after attempting to start a number of times. The service manager told me this while I was waiting for a Tow. The Second time, I was able to do that and get going. Not sure it is the best on the engine to do so if there is a real problem, but at least it allowed me to get off a very tight shoulder ON the freeway.
The end of the story is while it never happened again, and even though I was only 2 years into a 10 year warranty... I decided I didn't want to trust the fix, but I did trust Honda to fix what i hoped was a first year problem and I bought a 2021 Passport Sport. No issues to date, 20,000 miles in.
