Transmission failure @8,4xx miles bought brand new. This transmission has a history and not in a good way. They revised it and made improvements to fix previous issues. I believed it and took the chance. It did not pay off. Wonderful vehicle overall but the transmission is the weakest link in the long term.

I have a 14 Accord and love it but our 15 CRV just had the CVT replaced. I have no interest in a turbo Accord so the PP was the only one left that I'd consider. My sister has a 17MDX and they never say anything about the 9 speed but I too am skeptical about it but have been watching this forum since the PP came out and the chatter has been minimal. I'm hoping this 9 speed will never be an issue. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

I hear you. Always have had V6 Honda’s. First 4 popper turbo for us. We were actually going to get the Accord back when we got the Passport. And here we are. I was hell bent always staying with a Honda V6. But, when the transmission failed early on and could have left me stranded. It completely turned me off from the vehicle and hated it from there on out. We have owned many Honda vehicles with out a single issue. All Accord’s btw with the exception of the Passport. All bought brand new. Never had engine or transmission issues with any of them let alone complete transmission failure like in the PP. I already like this 10 speed transmission much much better in the Accord. It’s so smooth and snappy.

It pairs very well with the engine/turbo. I trust this vehicle a bit more because Honda makes incredible long lasting engines and it has an in house Honda built transmission. I know the 10 speed started out a bit rocky. But, things have been ironed out by now. Especially with the 2021 being a mid cycle refresh.

The first pairing of the V6 AWD and 10 speed is now on the newest MDX revealed today. Hopefully it will makes its way to the Honda V6 AWD side for the next gen Pilot and trickle down to the Ridgeline and Passport. Congrats and good luck with the Accord.

In the same boat! Had my 2019 Passport to the dealer 3 separate times for transmission issues and after being told this is "normal", actively searching for a replacement.

Very sad, love a lot of features that the elite trim brings but driving the truck makes me hate it almost every single time.
