I finally decided which route to go. Thanks to all of you who have posted up your pics and info.

I wanted to go with 17" wheels and tires for several reasons. More sidewall, added tire and wheel protection, softer ride, more airing down options, much less expensive tires, less rotating mass, broader tire selections and last but not least, looks.
I'm old, I've witnessed the big wheel craze for many years now, and still have not warmed up to it. I'd only go larger if I put bigger brakes on it and needed the room.

I wanted a 7" wide wheel but could not find one.
I went with older Pilot wheels, (thanks for the correction 14v6 ) I really wanted wheels with a 64.1mm hub size. That pretty much limited me to Honda wheels. I'm glad I stuck to my guns.

These wheels have a 45mm offset, but they are only 7. 5" wide, instead of 8".
They only stick out about 1/4" farther than the stock setup. I like that.
If I start towing I'll have to get the mud flaps. These tires look like they could throw rocks pretty good.

Tires are 255/65/17
Hankook Dynapro AT2.
They are about 1/2" taller and 1/2" wider than the stock 245/50/20 tires.
60,000 mile warranty. Built in "quiet technology " in tread pattern.
No rubbing so far.
I really like the tread pattern.
As soon as I get some miles on these I will report.

Discount Tire matched Walmarts price.
Try buying an 18 or 20 inch Dynapro at this price.

EDIT: So I took the car on a 225 mile trip to Moab. 2 hrs of freeway, some twisty canyon two lane, and 5 hours of dirt.

I had a chance to push this rig hard in some paved corners and round abouts. I noticed no ill effects of the taller sidewalls.

Freeway driving was very quiet. Of course Hankook addressed that issue with this new tread design.
I've read about some "floating and drifting" feed back from others, referring to their new 17 and 18 inch wheels at hiway speeds.
I didn't feel any of this. The car acted just as you would want.

We really didn't climb anything steep enough to test the off road traction. I will put it on a steep hill later.
I can say that the ride was super jarring off road. The suspension on these is quite stiff.
If I had quick release sway bar mounts I would have removed them.

To soften the ride, I aired down to 22.5 lbs on all four tires. This made all the difference in the world. They were at 40psi.

If you can believe it, I ran over something on the freeway on the way home. It put a nail sized hole in the tire but I found no nail.
I'm now a firm believer in these TPMS units and carrying a full sized spare.

The spare. I'll mess with stowing it on my days off.
My first choice would be to put it where the donut is. Out of sight, weather and easy to get to. Unloading my junk to get to my spare is the least of my concerns. I know a 10" wide tire won't fit down there without raising the cargo platform.
I hate the idea of losing head room and storage space back there, so it may not prove to be a workable option for me.

A roof basket?? My last two vehicles were a Jeep Wrangler and an FJ Cruiser. The wind breaking over those steep windshields and the roof rack was very noisey. They were about as aerodynamic as my shed.
I'm tying to keep this thing as aerodynamic, good on gas, and as quiet as possible. So the roof option does not appeal to me at all.

I'm thinking about building a hitch mounted tire carrier. I would prolly only use it when I leave town. Problems with this idea are blocking the back up camera and blocking the license plate.

Thanks Steve. I'd say the calipers clear by about 3/8's of an inch. I'm good with that.
Do you know of a good source for matte black lug nuts? Some I've searched cost $100 or more.
Painting these chrome nuts would be a task needing touch up every time I put the impact gun to them.
Thanks Sir.

Do you know what the Honda OEM part number is for these rims? Super nice!

Thanks esto70 ,
The size was stamped on the back. Another stamp said "for tpms". Ill look again when I get home tonight.
If you search 2009-2011 Honda Pilot wheels I think you will find them.
I ordered them from Autorimshop. I'll post a link.
They had good reviews and bad. I gave them 5 stars. UPS dropped them off in 6 days, from New York to Colorado.

I have always loved the fat 5 spoke wheel. Clean, simple,, easy to wash,, and super strong. Lots of aluminum. That being said, lifting the 20's was a chore after lifting these little guys.

I SEE you positioned the "H" emblem cap correctly:):):)
Haha, a keen eye you have my friend.
Noone I found offered a matte black center cap.
My wife loves the look, so do I.
We do want to find some matte black lug nuts tho.
She bought some black anodized valve stem caps at Auto Zone. I've NEVER seen her this excited about a car in 20 years. Pretty cool.

The only other numbers on the back of the wheel were SZA 775B .
Perhaps there were numbers on the barrel.
Hope this helps Sir.

Ok, those are 2009-2011 Honda Pilot wheels. I too don't get the 20 inch wheel thing. The rotors take up such little space in there, I guess it's to sell cars and that's it.
Good detective work, thanks 14v6 !
I think you're right, the big wheels are appealing to the masses. Which in turn boosts sales.

I was working when my Wife took the car to Discount Tire. After the install, I called to thank my Discount tire buddy for swapping out the tpms's
and mounting the new rubber.
I asked what he thought. He said that all the older guys in the shop loved the set-up. He then said that all the youngens thought we were crazy. Lol.

Automotive tire Automotive exterior Automotive design Rim Automotive wheel system

So today I tried to put my full sized spare into my donut area.
Automotive tire Rim Automotive wheel system Synthetic rubber Automotive exterior

Here is some great news. The sub woofer is not in the way of my 255/65/17 tire. This tire is 1/2" taller and wider than my stock 245/50/20 and fits all the way forward.

Laying down, the tire is about 4" too tall to close the rear cargo cover.
Obviously, the entire cover could be supported and raised up, but there would be a 4" gap at the rear and on the floor behind the rear seats. Not ideal.

The good news is, that if you get a longer hold down bolt, you can drop it down thru a lug hole and screw it into the original location.
I like that.

I have a hitch mounted swing out carrier being made now. Will post pics when it arrives.
