So have you seen the new CRV ? My daughter mentioned she‘d seen a picture of it so I searched for it. I like the looks of it, similar to one of the current VW SUV’s.

It’s bigger and more squared corners, not sure if it got the V6

The 2023 CR-V has the option of either a 1.5-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine or a 2.0-liter gas/electric hybrid. Unfortunately, no V6.

I personally like the new styling much more than before. For about 20 years it was always too rounded for me to consider seriously. I would've test driven one recently had I been aware of the restyle. Not that I prefer it to the passport but this should be a really nice daily driver for a lot of people. I'll mention it to my dad when his Tucson lease is up.

It looks good. More mainstream looking for sure. The Hybrid version is very interesting as it doesn't have a transmission. It uses the engine to drive a generator which then charges the batteries and drive the electric motors to power the wheels. They call it e-CVT. What's crazy is that they even simulate "shifts" when you floor it. The engine then is connected directly to the wheels above certain speed when the electric motor torque runs out at higher RPM.
I think they will eventually release a PHEV version of the CR-V by simply increase the battery size and add charging circuitry.

Like a mini PP or Pilot now, rather than the distinct "CRV-ness".
Exactly what I was thinking! I held onto my 2006 CRV for so long because the models after it looked like an odd minivan!

Front looks great now.

Rear hasn't changed as much, but does have nice character line:
And Honda finally got rid of the full width chrome bar that has been there since 2007

Interior very Civic-ish, cleaner and a bit sportier looking to me:

That's the same technology that's used in hybrid transit buses. The common systems are GM-Allison Hybrid system, and BAE HybriDrive

Unfortunately the 2023 Hybrid CRv does not have a spare donut, just a can of fix-a-flat.
The Hybrid CRv Touring has 19" low profile tires and no spare tire.
When my Passport hit a pot hole and split its sidewall, a fix-a-slat air can would have left me stranded.
The CRv Non-touring has 18" tires and a fix-a-flat can.

The e-CVT sounds better than the belt driven CVT of yester-year.
Here's a detailed e-cvt explanation, from YouTube: LINK
The video specifies drive ratios for an Accord and tells you how to calculate the drive ratios, for the CRv.
The drive ratios for the CRv are...EV mode = 9.5303:1 and engine mode = 3.1288:1

I purchased the spare tire kit for my Mustang GT. The only time I have to use it is when I have a t-bolt stuck in the tire. The hole was about 1/4 in. There is no way the factory fix a flat is going to seal that one up.

Unfortunate that Honda, known for being the best in optimizing its interior space couldn't find a place for a spare. Otherwise, this CRV looks to be awesome.

We had 3 CRV's in the past but I had a CVT fail with a 2015 CRV so I switched to RAV4's. The Hybrid does have a spare tire and the powertrain gets double the MPG's of my Passport and feels faster in traffic.

I saw a demo model during my last oil change. It was an EX-L, I wish it had the 360 camera, but that is not even available in the higher trims. It looks a lot different in person compared to the pictures in articles. It has a lot in common with the previous model in the back, nice change in the front and in the interior.
