I believe you have iron particulate in the paint. Brakes can put particles in the air and, then onto the car, or by just parking the car outdoors industrial fallout can contaminate the paint. The particulate embeds in the paint and clay bars are not too effective for complete removal. I use a product called Iron-X. It quickly removes all particles of iron from the paint, as well as industrial fallout. Professional detailers use this before they clay the car.
