Interesting story as I got another low battery alert just a few minutes ago and I even went out and remote started it yesterday. I’m on week 2 of 4 of no driving and very little activity from a torn meniscus. I last drove it to the knee dr in Fountain Valley on 4/6, so maybe 9 miles round trip.

When you say you didn’t drive long enough, do you mean the time between drives or distance of drives?

Is this new battery supposed to be bigger and hold a longer charge? There was talks that our original battery wasn’t big enough for our vehicle which is why I continuously get a low batter alert even though it tests good.

And can you share the Honda Care number you called so I can save it in my phone? I don’t have any stickers with the number.

Get one of these. I don’t put much mileage on my personal vehicles and would have to replace the batteries every two years until I got this. It works on the AGM batteries in the Passports. Best investment I made.

+1 I had a similar "start up experience" several days ago after leaving my 2020 Passport in the garage for about 10 days, only driving it in and out of the garage for some cleaning during that time (= no longer drives to recharge battery). It was hard for me to believe that the battery could drain from just this, but indeed it had. I put my Battery Minder trickle charger on it on Sunday, and only this morning was it finally back up to a full/"maintaining" charge. After an hour or two reading up on this forum (just Search for 'battery'), it's clear that I'm going to have handle this vehicle very differently than my older vehicles that could sit for weeks without issues. These newer vehicles with all their electronics apparently draw the battery down much more quickly. I already had a good Lithium jump starter (which started my Passport up easily/quickly by the way), but that will now be going under the front seat or glove box rather than the rear storage where I had it since that seemed a cooler location for the lithium batteries (rear gate won't open to access it without power, or at least no way I could see). And as others have done, that trickle charger will be going on whenever the vehicle is sitting more than a day or two.

'Not thrilled about having to "baby" this vehicle/battery in this way....wish a higher-capacity battery was provided/an option. But everything is a tradeoff, and apparently this is an issue not limited to just Hondas...

The video you posted seems like a failing battery. This is a known problem. It's not a transmission problem.

My Passport sits in the garage for 2 weeks or more and I never had any battery problems.
